1. The Service

FIDE Practice App provides AI-powered language practice to help you prepare for the Swiss FIDE language exam. The Service includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises powered in part by Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini models).

2. Accounts

• You must sign in with a valid Google account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• One person per account — you may not share or transfer your account.

3. Subscriptions & billing

• Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown on the pricing page.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You can cancel any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
• All payments are final and non-refundable. This includes partial or unused billing periods. Except where a refund is required by applicable law, any refund is granted entirely at our sole and absolute discretion, and providing one in a given case creates no obligation to do so in any other.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the Service or its AI features.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or our systems.
• Share your subscription access with others.

5. AI-generated content

Exercises, feedback, and spoken content are generated by AI and may occasionally contain errors. FIDE Practice App is a practice tool and does not guarantee exam success. Always verify important information with official FIDE resources.

6. Intellectual property

All content, branding, and software in the Service are owned by or licensed to FIDE Practice App. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FIDE Practice App is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access to paid features ends immediately.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Switzerland.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice.
